Event Details
Tudor England: a rogue state cut off from Europe, politically allied with various Muslim kingdoms including the Turkish Ottoman Empire and the Barbary states, wreaking terror across West Africa and the Caribbean, attacking its Catholic adversaries.

This is the other Tudor England that historians like Jerry Brotton are rediscovering from their work in the archives. Join Jerry for an illustrated talk as he reveals a whole new version of the Tudors – and one that resonates with current debates around multiculturalism and the culture wars.
