Role Summary
The role of Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of our grade 2* listed building in the heart of Westminster. You will manage a small team of facility maintenance operatives, ensuring the safety, comfort, and functionality of our physical environment.
The role requires a combination of technical expertise and a customer service approach, liaising between Trustees as owners of the building and all tenants/Church on building operation matters.
The role is based at our principal venue in Westminster. The working pattern is 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 flexed as appropriate to meet the needs of the business and to attend networking events.
CHV is owned by the Methodist Church as are most venues in the CHV portfolio; as such we aim to conduct business in line with the ethics of the Methodist Church and our CHV values.
Location and working pattern
The role is based at our principal venue in Westminster.
The working pattern is 5 out of 7 days, flexed as appropriate to meet the needs of the business and will include weekend and evenings. The role is primarily undertaken as part of a team, but lone working may sometimes apply.
Duties & Responsibilities
Day to day operational planning
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including building maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
- Manage the preventive maintenance programme to minimise downtime and ensure optimal functioning of facilities.
- Implement corrective actions and measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees and visitors.
- Keep up with current best practice in the field of building maintenance
- Daily management responsibilities for the on-site maintenance team, ensuring compliance of the building in line with PPM and reactive procedures.
- Lead and develop the maintenance team including, training, coaching and ensure toolbox talks are completed, along with all other health and safety requirements and objectives.
- Lead the team to achieve their, the department and company objectives, including performance reviews, appraisals, and disciplinary meetings.
- Manage operations within the department maximising productivity and efficiency, ensuring the maintenance team are fully utilised to meet customer expectations as service levels set by the company
- Manage work in progress and evaluate and review operational performance. Make recommendations to meet operational targets.• Direct the Maintenance team to liaise with Payroll regarding salary queries or issues.
- To attend relevant internal meetings such as, project meetings and H&S meetings.
- Carry out monthly audits of the facilities management system with the SFM.
- Managing/delegate approved contractors and suppliers on site with support from the team.
- Assist and advise the events team with client’s risk assessments and method statements.
- Liaise with Head of events and iVvy to ensure correct service levels are achieved (attend daily 3:00pm event meetings and coordinate any facilities works needed for upcoming events).
- Create and partake in event maintenance cover requirements producing monthly event maintenance rotas.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
- Co-operate with the company to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation and the Health
and Safety policies and procedures. - Train staff to carry out their duties in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company
procedures - Within this role the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for their own administration.

Essential
- Proven experience in maintenance supervisory or management role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, building regulations, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and tools.
- Qualification in IOSH Managing Safely
