A new venue management organisation, Central Hall Venues (CHV), today announces the launch of its first UK wide site, Nicolson Square Edinburgh.
CHV was created by Central Hall Westminster Ltd, which has managed its own London conferencing and events centre for over 20 years. CHV has been established to support, launch and manage similar venues which are Methodist Halls, originally built as meeting places for the public.
Nicolson Square Edinburgh (NSE), situated in the heart of the historic Scottish capital, is the first UK site to be launched as a new conference and event centre run by Central Hall Venues. Located in a Category A listed Building within the City of Edinburgh’s Methodist Church, NSE offers over five flexible event spaces capable of holding events for up to 250 people.
NSE, also known as City of Edinburgh Methodist Church (CEMC), was originally built in 1815 in a classical style with imposing Venetian columns positioned at the front of the building. The venue comprises two buildings within its site with the main one containing the Great Hall, with impressive high ceilings, a viewing balcony and an original organ. The adjoining Epworth Hall was built in 1916 to commemorate the centenary year of the Methodist Church and holds a variety of meeting rooms. Both buildings are interconnective to allow seamless use and highly flexible meeting spaces.
The venue’s central location and versatile spaces provide a new venue brand in Scotland’s capital for all kinds of public and private occasions from conferences, meetings, seminars and training sessions to musical and arts performances as well as filming and TV locations.
Every room at NSE contains technology equipment and facilities, with production and AV expertise available on demand, tailored to the event organiser’s needs. From basic presentation for a small conference to a world-class hybrid event, staff are on hand to offer full guidance. NSE also works with a selection of local recommended caterers who can offer a wide variety of hot and cold options in an extensive menu choice.
Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Venues, comments: “We are very excited to launch our new group and support network at a time when good news is much needed with the opening of Nicolson Square Edinburgh as an events and conference centre. Having run Central Hall Westminster as a highly successful events centre for over 20 years, we felt it was time to replicate our expertise to other similar venues with the same ethos.”
“Our close ties with Methodism ensure we maintain a transparent approach to business, and we are proud to uphold established principles of ethics, integrity and sustainability,” he adds.
Central Hall Venues, which is owned by Central Hall Westminster Ltd, a Social enterprise, plans to add more UK venues to the group throughout 2021, all of which are contained within Methodist Halls.
