Central Hall Westminster has joined the Westminster Venue Collection, a prestigious consortium of top venues, bringing its member total to 34.
The consortium brings together modern and traditional exhibition spaces, museums, auditoria, conference rooms and banqueting halls to offer all the world-class facilities that London’s iconic City of Westminster has to offer. The venue’s website makes searching for a venue in Westminster quick and easy.
Built in 1912, Central Hall Westminster is central London’s largest purpose-built conference and events centre. The Grade II* Listed building situated directly opposite Westminster Abbey has Europe’s largest self-supporting domed ceiling in its Great Hall, which seats over 2,000 people and the design of its grand staircase is based on the Paris Opera House. With 23 flexible events spaces, the venue has capacity for events of all shapes and sizes from exhibitions and conferences to concerts and live television shows. All the venue’s rooms offer large windows, high ceilings and state-of-the-art technology provided by its in-house Partner, White Light.
As a not-for-profit organisation, the venue exists to maintain its historic building and to provide money for a range of charitable works all around the world. Central Hall Westminster is also renowned for hosting events of huge historical significance including one of the first meetings of the Suffragette movement and the first meeting of the newly formed United Nations in 1947.
Chair of Westminster Venue Collection, Rachel Azzopardi, comments: “We are very excited to be able to welcome Central Hall Westminster to our ever-growing collection. We are impressed by the way new technology has been introduced to blend seamlessly into the historic architecture of the building. Its capacity to host events from very small to large, high-profile gatherings, makes it a great addition to the collection.”
Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster, adds: “Central Hall Westminster has long been a part of the Westminster scene, so we are delighted to become part of this prestigious consortium which brings the most iconic venues together in one place.”
