York events venue St Saviourgate has a special treat in store this Christmas as it joins forces with neighbourhood cinema chain Picturehouse to present an exciting line-up of festive films.
From 12-23 December, the Grade II-listed historic venue in York’s city centre, will show Yuletide family favourites such as Elf, Home Alone and The Polar Express in its stunning two-storey Great Hall, boasting high ceilings, stained glass windows and an impressive grand organ.
The recently released Paddington movie – Paddington in Peru – is also on the bill along with other classics such as The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life and Love Actually.
Controversial Christmas classic Die Hard will provide an alternative for the adults, while Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and Wonka complete the listings of family-friendly films available for viewing within the historic space operated by Central Hall Venues.

Picturehouse will show two screenings per day from a state-of-the-art large pop-up screen. Tickets can be booked in advance for £15 per adult and £12 per child with family tickets available for £24.
