St Saviourgate York’s (SSY) meeting spaces have natural daylight and high ceilings providing guests and delegates with a sense of space that enables creativity. The venue has many original features which blend well with the modern functionality of an events venue.
The meeting rooms and spaces are flexible and able to accommodate your requirements, whether you need a large space for an event across multiple rooms or a smaller, more exclusive space of just one meeting room. We can cater for a range of both corporate, private and charity type events.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall, also known as the Chapel is the largest events space in SSY, it can cater for up to 400 people theatre style on the ground floor and a further 150 in the balcony.
The events space is overlooked by a beautiful, ornate organ and a two-tiered stage. Some stained glass, decorated ceilings, historic memorials on the walls (not obtrusive)
The striking setting offers effective communication between presenters or speakers and the audience ensuring that they will be engaged and attentive throughout the presentation.
The excellent acoustics of the room allow for a very best quality of musical performances. The Great Hall is versatile for all manner of type of events including conferences, seminars and training as well as networking and performances.

Fulford and Rawcliffe Combined
Our Fulford and Rawcliffe rooms can be combined in to one large and flexible events space. Located on the ground floor with plenty of natural daylight from numerous high windows and an ornate decorative ceiling. It offers a movable wall between the two events spaces, the feature is a feat of Victorian Engineering and allows the space to dynamically change the layout during an event.
The room is situated close to the Great Hall and the Clifton room as further break out space, also providing access to an external courtyard ideal for a fresh air break and for a summer event.

Fulford
Fulford (previously known as room 1) is located on the ground floor and easily accessible from the front of the building. The room is large and has plenty of natural daylight from its numerous high windows and an ornate decorative ceiling.
The room can be used on its own or in conjunction with Rawcliffe (room 2) as there is a movable wall between the two events spaces, the feature is a feat of Victorian Engineering and allows the space to be opened up to create a much larger meeting room, as well as dynamically change the layout during an event
The room is situated close to the Great Hall and the rest of the building including an external courtyard ideal for a fresh air break and for a summer event.

Rawcliffe
Rawcliffe (was called room 2) adjoins Fulford (room 1) via an amazing piece of Victorian Engineering, a movable wall. These two rooms can be used in conjunction with one another.
Alternatively, Rawcliffe on its own is a large open space that has decorative ceilings and a skylight providing lots of natural daylight in addition to the light also from large stained-glass windows.
The room is located on the ground floor and there is easy access to other spaces with within the venue including the external courtyard.

Clifton
Clifton (previous name was room 3) is also located on the ground floor and accessible via Rawcliffe. Clifton is perfect for smaller meeting and interviews or even a breakout space for a larger event taking place elsewhere in the venue.
There is a large window in the room which gives the feeling of light and space making it a compact yet pleasant space to work in.

Holgate
Holgate (formerly room 9) is a self-contained events space on the other side of the building to our other meeting rooms. It is easily accessible via it’s own exclusive entrance, or internally via the main part of the building.
The room has high ceilings and a bay window giving the space lots of natural daylight. There is also an integrated kitchen at one end of the room which is ideal for providing food and refreshments to delegates during an event.
