Over 700 approved senior buyers spent the day at Central Hall Westminster on Wednesday 10th July for the 15th BNC Event Show which took the theme of sustainability for the first time.
This was the third year running that the summer BNC Event Show was held at central London’s largest conference and events centre, situated in the heart of Westminster.
Around 100 exhibitors including hotels, venues, catering companies, entertainment specialists, production companies and technology experts made best use of the venue’s versatile event spaces including the Lecture Hall and Library, seminars in the Robert Perks Room and a well-used chillout space in the George Thomas Room.
Feedback on the sustainability theme and the show in general was extremely positive with many event professionals asking for advice on the sustainability theme. In the words of Christopher McCarthy, Event Manager for Rathbones speaking in the Sustainability discussion panel: “Sustainability used to be a ‘nice to have’. Now it’s a must.”
Highlights included some fun and innovative entertainment from Merlin Events. Ecobooth, which makes exhibition stands from discarded plastic bottles, was a huge hit with guests, as were the BNC Gives Back complimentary stands: City Harvest and Clean Conscience. The packed programme of Seminars received record attendance and the organisers were complimented on the relevant topics, inspirational speakers and actionable takeaways.
BNC Event Shows’ Director Kim Paulden comments;
“The 15th BNC Event Show was such a pleasure to organise, especially with the incredible team at Central Hall Westminster. We were absolutely thrilled with the day and can’t wait for the next one: 19th February 2020! Thanks to our exhibitors who brought their energy and passion for their news and products and as always, we can’t thank enough all the hundreds of event managers who attended. We know how valuable their time is and we see it as a big thumbs-up that so many top event managers chose to spend the entire day with us learning, networking and having a bit of fun!
“Sustainability will be an integral part of all future BNC events and following the show, more people joined our BNC Sustainability Action Group, both buyers and suppliers, so we will be having our first get-together soon. In the meantime people can read events industry sustainability news”
